Black Hills Honey Farm is a family owned and operated apiary. Mitch and Lisa Irion started beekeeping ten years ago. They take care of 1200 hives. Each hive consists of approximately 50,000 female workers, one queen, and 500 drones(male bees). In the spring the Irion's are busy grafting queen cells, splitting hives to keep numbers up, feeding, and making homemade bee supplement patties. In the summer, they keep busy adding supers for honey crops, inspecting the hives for queens, drone layers, and disease. In the fall they harvest the honey crop, and frame by frame extract the honey, scrape the "Propolis", collect beeswax, which is then melted down and poured into blocks for later use. The honey is bottled fresh! The honey is pure, raw, unfiltered honey! After the extracting it's time to get the bees ready for the winter and pollination. All the hives are gathered and brought home, where they will be fed, inspected, carted, and loaded onto semi trucks and sent to California for pollination. Once in California, they are unloaded and put into a holding yard and fed. The bees are then moved to their winter hone, the almond orchards! 80% of the almond yield is die to the pollination of the honey bees. When the bees are away, the Irions are busy at work formulating, researching, and creating "Products from the Hive." These products are clean, free of synthetic fragrances, isopropyl alcohol, benzene, mineral oil, sodium lareth sulfate, propylene, aluminum, etc...Click here to read more about why these are so bad for you! Our products are 100% natural. They are powerful! When the pollination is complete, they are gathered up and shipped back to South Dakota in mid April. We are not doctors and we do not prescribe. Black Hills Honey Farm stands strong in keeping their products 100% Natural.
A synthetic fragrance is a dead product and has no place in holistic aroma therapy. Synthetics are listed as fragrances on most labels. Fragrances lack the vital energy that is responsible for the positive, healing effect of pure essential oil on mind and body. Many chemicals found in fragrances are also designated as hazardous waste chemicals. Health complaints most associated with fragrances are headache, inability to concentrate, nausea, depression, sinus problems, and restlessness.
Unfriendly additives such as chemicals and synthetics are being used as diluents to stretch oils and increase profits.
Isopropyl Alcohol is the antiseptic commonly used in cosmetics. Words to look for on the label is propanol isopropanol, propyl alcohol, and rubbing alcohol.
100% of cancer patients have the solvent isopropyl alcohol accumulated in the liver and cancerous tissues.
Benzene deserves special attention not only because it is the Aids-related solvent, but because it is presumed to be absent from our environment. The immune lowering effect of benzene has been studied for many years by scientists.
Mineral oil is made from petroleum.
Sodium Lareth Sulfate is a cancer causing agent, suppresses the immune system, causing all types of other diseases. It does not leave your body.
Propylene Glycol causes cancer, dermatitis, kidney damage, and liver abnormalities. It can cause skin rashes, dry skin, and skin damage. It is a major irritant to the skin. It does not leave your body.
Aluminum is commonly added as a skin moisturizer. It does this by impregnating the skin and attracting water, giving the illusion of moist skin. In fact, you simply have moist aluminum stuck in your skin which now your immune system must remove.

Our Large Display holds 12 Headache Balms, 12 Sinus Remedies, 12 Healing Salves, and 12 Burn Ointments. The displays top shelf will hold the Honey Balm tins. Each tin hold 30 Honey Balms(Peppermint, Lemongrass Sweet Orange, Lime Geranium, Grapefruit Ginger, and Sweet Clover). The bottom of the display holds 4 Handsalves. We offer a wide variety of products and any of them can be added to the display.
Our Small Display holds 6 Headache Balms, 6 Sinus Remedies, 6 Healing Salves, and 6 Burn Ointments. The top Shelf has room for Honey Balm tin and anything else you would like to add. The bottom shelf will old 2 Handsalves at a time.
Our Honey Balm tin comes with 30 Honey Balms. We can do 30 of any flavor (Peppermint, Lemongrass Sweet Orange, Lime Geranium, Grapefruit Ginger, or Sweet Clover), or we offer 30 assorted Honey Balms. This display is GREAT next to the register!
